We spent a few days in Fiji for a quick getaway holiday. This was our second time visiting Fiji. On our previously trip we took the kids. Due to their young age, we were unable to appreciate the many different activities on offer and experience the culture. Both times we stayed at the Fiji Hideaway Resort. The resort staff were both friendly and welcoming. It did feel like “coming home”. Continue reading Fiji Holiday | GoPro and Time Lapse Video

Perfect Memory | Wireless Action Camera
I got in early on this project by backing the Indiegogo crowdfunding website. I love my GoPro and all the accessories that go with it, however wanted another smaller camera to place on the bike helmet and carry with me while hiking. I found the “Perfect Memory Pro Camera”. SmartiPi Touch and Raspberry Pi 3 Running BerryBoot
I recently wrote an article about the Raspberry Pi 2 and Cana Kit. This week I received the SmartiPi Touch from Smarticase which I funded from a Kickstarter campaign. The case for the touch screen is unique and compliments the Raspberry Pi well. It took only a few minutes to assemble the kit and have everything running. Connecting DJI Driver to Windows 10 and NAZA-M V2 Software
I purchased a new laptop recently and wanted the configuration software on the new laptop to make changes in the field. I never had any issues installing the software or the DJI Driver on my desktop or other systems I had previously owned. After installing the Naza-M Assistant Software v2.20, I installed the DJI Driver and plugged in the drone for the USB to pick up. Grampians Peaks Trail | Overnight Hike
After my recent failed attempt due to bad weather, I decided to take some time off work and have another go at completing the Grampians Peaks Trail. I headed off early to Halls Gap. The weather was supposed to be fine and sunny. With tops of 20 degrees and no sign of rain this was the perfect opportunity to attempt the first section of the newly opened Grampians Peaks trail. Drone Showreel | Central Victorian Reservoirs
So this 5 minute drone showreel showing short clips of Central Victorian reservoirs took over 1 year to make. I spent a lot of time in 2015 testing various drones, the software, hardware and various photography gimbals and cameras. I finally ended up chopping, editing and adding all the footage into a short 5 minute clip to showcase these beautiful locations. Continue reading Drone Showreel | Central Victorian Reservoirs
Roost Laptop Stand | Kickstarter Purchase
I got the Roost laptop stand a few days ago. I found this new laptop stand idea on Kickstarter and decided to fund the project late in 2015. The project was created by James Olander and was funded by over 8000 backers and $780K in funding. After spending hours a day working hunched over my laptop left me tired and sore every afternoon. Looking for a cheaper option than a new monitor or ergonomic desk I decided to back this project and gave the Roost laptop stand a try. I’ve been using it for the past few days and I couldn’t be happier. Continue reading Roost Laptop Stand | Kickstarter Purchase
